BRUSHES
WHY?
Brushing keeps your holds free from magnesium, rubber from climbing shoes, and dirt, which increases friction.
Magnesium increases friction by drying our sweat, but too much creates an additional layer between our skin and the hold, causing slippage.
As climbers, we try to reduce our impact on nature and rocks. Cleaning chalk marks and residues minimizes aesthetic damage, especially outdoors, where the space is shared with others.
